Free to be Wild es un centro de rescate, rehabilitación y liberación de animales salvajes que está en Zimbabue. Se especializan en primates pero, como veréis, también ayudan a otros animales, incluso a perros... En el santuario hay varios canes, incluyendo dos hermanas Dálmatas rescatados de una granja de cachorros, Indigo y Bhindi.
Sí, por desgracia la codicia humana también genera ese tipo de lugares infernales hasta en África. Sospechan que la madre de estos canes fue obligada a parir hasta a 170 cachorros a lo largo de su vida...
Indigo es sorda y su hermana Bhindi es parcialmente sorda, un efecto de la cría irresponsable, como explican también en este maravilloso vídeo en el que podréis ver a las perras forjando una amistad imbatible con... una zebra.
Sí, ellas -y otros canes que viven en este santurario- echan una pata para lograr la rehabilitación de algunos de los animales acogidos aquí.
Los monos claramente están felices de poder interactuar con las Dálmatas :-)

Otra de las habitantes caninas de este lugar es Bo, una Braco de Weimar requeteguapa que tiene amistades animales de todo tipo y le alegra el día a todos en el santuario.
There are certain moments in everyday that leave me smiling and my heart so full and content. Moments that make me feel grounded and present, knowing that this is exactly where I’m meant to be! . . . Every evening I do the rounds making sure the animals are all ok, fed and ready to curl up for their nights sleep, and some just waking up for their “new day”. . . . The staff are all unwinding, music from their rooms fill the air while the smoke from their evening fire comforts us on these crisp evenings, the animals that join me are momentarily cute and the rest of the time running a round like lunatics making us bounce around like pop corn to avoid them crashing into us. . . .
